Tonight’s game started off with a whistle & from the get-go we had a shot at an open goal & missed. It seemed that team Kaos hadn’t gotten themselves onto the field yet.
But when they finally did it took them about 2 minutes to score their 1st goal. Then another then another and another etc etc etc …….
The amount of passion showed by the Porks throughout the flogging was immeasurable. It was like we’d just been released from the Piggery to go “Free Range” !
Yes we did drop our snouts at times but that was just to look down at the dirt- begging to get down there to truffle. Yes Porksters the urge to Truffle was strong amongst us. At least 6 times we coulda woulda shoulda scored from close range and from afar but ended up with a big fat donut 0. We crumbled under pressure & also crumbled from no pressure at all.
It could be said that our 1st half was our most dynamic display of attacking football ever produced at altitude Bangalow but with zero reward. We were, in a sense “all over em’ ” for a short period & I reckon not too many if any other teams will be able to say that against team Kaos at season’s end. During all that Pork excitement it seemed we had actually really gone Free Range in defence giving our opposition clear paths to goals. Other times they just cleared the path themselves showing enough trickery & footballing wizardry that they’d be right at home in a Harry Potter movie or young enough to be starring in one !!!
Kaos sprung leaks in our defence & converted 9 times in the first half &
10 times in the second half. At least, like last week both halves were consistent meaning our fitness levels are not dropping off towards the back half of the match.
Though from our bruised & battered keepers perspective our defence had gone AWOL all too often & wasn’t running back to help out. Problem was everytime HusseyHof yelled out Dey-Fence Dey-Fence we thought he was speaking French & it sounded like De-Plane De-Plane boss & we’d look up instead. An honest mistake.
Others times we’d be caught out looking at houses, wondering what was so special about Their-Fence,Their-Fence.
In my Porked up opinion, we didn’t play tooooo badly, we were just outplayed by a better team on the night but obviously the competition organisers needed to see who the better team was.
Whichever way you look at it Kaos were 16yrs young, an average of 32 yrs younger than Porks or 1/3 of our age. Each way it doesn’t help us but I still reckon we enjoyed ourselves more so , before, during and after the match than they did.
Some of em’ were even overheard saying that if they’d won they’d be allowed to stay up late til 9pm if they cleaned their teeth first ………..and did a wee.
PS. On a serious note we’d heard after the match that 1 of the Kaos players had recently returned from Brazil from playing in the Australian Under 16’s Futsal / soccer team.
Congratulations to him.
I guess Kaos knew they needed him to beat us Porks.
Just to finish off with ——-
An early evening quote from Shane prior to our game =
” Hope tonight’s rivals ( Kaos ) are nothing like The Goats ” !
That’s a Pork Wrap.
Look forward to seeing you all for round 1.
